Hello

I understand the importance of promoting and nurturing healthy self-esteem, positive self-image and inclusion in young children, especially during their most critical period of growth and development.

My Story

I grew up in Washington, DC, with my parents, sisters, and my dog, “Frisky”, where I spent countless hours playing with my beloved dolls, and creating stories, both imaginative and in writing, all components and reflective of my life today as an early childhood educator, and author-illustrator of children’s books. I enjoy life’s simple pleasures with my husband, children, grandchildren and five dogs. My canine book bestie, “MacKzie “ is featured in some of my children’s books and is my Kindness partner on our Facebook social media  platform, @A Message from MacKzie”. Our followers refer to me as a “Kindologist”, as I am always seeking ways to inspire others with our messages of kindness.

I believe Kindness is a superpower, a lifestyle, and a choice, with the potential to dwell within all of us to make the world a better place. My mantra is to “Love God, self, and others through kindness”. While my stories address the current social-emotional events that negatively impact today’s children, my writing and illustrating style have somewhat of a nostalgic feel and offer a gentle literary “hug” and a soft “cushion” of hope and encouragement for children during unprecedented times.

My stories are written in rhyme with matching illustrations to create a fun reading and learning experience for early readers, to increase their reading confidence, build self-esteem, and aid in the retention of important information. I love to create message for the young and the young and heart, My sincere love for children infuses my passion for writing and illustrating books that educate, engage, and empower children to pursue their highest level of imagination. I am dedicated to assist children with life lessons by improving critical thinking, problem-solving skills, social-emotional regulating, establishing and enhancing positive self-image, healthy self-esteem, and inclusion through messages of kindness. I hope today’s children who read and hear my storybooks will emulate what they’ve learned in their adult tomorrows and infiltrate the world with good deeds from good seeds birthed through “Cee Cee’s Heart…where Kindness lives”.
